Memorial Hospital of Bedford County Foundation Invites Golfers to Event June 2

EVERETT, Pa., May 12, 2017 Golfers and chili connoisseurs can reserve a place for a three-man scramble team in the 32nd Annual Chili Open Golf Tournament. Registration ends May 19.

The annual Chili Open Golf Tournament, scheduled for June 2 at the Down River Golf Course in Everett, Pa., has raised more than $200,000 in the past 31 years to fund a scholarship program offered by the Memorial Hospital of Bedford County (MHBC) Foundation for Bedford County residents pursuing degrees in the health care field.

Through events like the Chili Open Golf Tournament, the MHBC Foundation has emerged as an integral component to UPMC Bedford Memorialís ability to improve the health of the community it serves.

The tournament format features a menís and womenís division with a minimum team handicap of 30. Tee-shots for each player must be used a minimum of four times. Registration starts at 10 a.m., June 2, and the tournament starts at 11 a.m. The fee is $300 per team and includes brunch, snack and beverage cart, dinner and a player gift. The field is limited to 36 three-person teams.

New this year is a fun putting competition where participants can test their skills.

Prizes include first, second and third place in both divisions, prizes for a hole-in-one, closest-to-pin and longest drive.
